3D configurator for custom stair treads

Our 3D configurator lets you preview, size and price your custom solid wood stair treads in real time. Choose the step type (straight, L-shape, riser), the wood species (European oak, ash, beech, American walnut), the finish (untreated, oiled, coloured hardwax-oil), the dimensions to the millimetre and the quantity — the ex-VAT price updates instantly.

Every tread is manufactured in France from edge-glued lamellae, ensuring outstanding dimensional stability and a consistent grain. The configurator generates a detailed quote request emailed to you with a complete summary of your configuration.

Perfect for floating staircases (stringer-mounted, cantilevered, English-style), renovating an existing stair or building a new one. We supply private clients as well as carpenters, joiners and interior architects.

How the Stepolia 3D configurator works

  1. Pick the step type: straight tread (rectangular), L-shape (with side return) or riser (vertical panel between treads).
  2. Select the wood species: European oak for a warm classic, ash for pronounced grain, beech for a uniform honey tone, or American walnut for a premium signature.
  3. Set the dimensions: length 800–1000 mm, width 200–300 mm, thickness 20–120 mm. Risers: height 600–1200 mm.
  4. Choose the finish: raw (finish on site), oiled (natural protection) or coloured hardwax-oil (ready to install).
  5. Set the quantity (4 to 20 pieces) then preview the 3D render and the live ex-VAT price.

4 selected wood species

  • European oak — the benchmark French species, durable and warm.
  • Ash — light, springy, with pronounced grain, ideal for a Scandi look.
  • Beech — uniform honey tone, superior hardness, perfect for high-traffic stairs.
  • American walnut — deep chocolate, premium signature.

3 finish levels

  • Untreated: sanded raw wood, ready for your own finish.
  • Oiled: natural hard oil, breathable matte protection.
  • Coloured hardwax-oil: factory finish ready to install, range of tones.

3 modelled step types

  • Straight treads: the classic shape for straight or winding stairs.
  • L-shape treads: with side return, for stringer or invisible-fixing floating stairs.
  • Risers: vertical panels matched to the treads to dress the underside.

Custom dimensions

Tread length 800 to 1000 mm, width 200 to 300 mm, thickness 20 to 120 mm. All measurements are millimetre-precise. For sizes outside this range, contact us directly.

Quantity

The configurator accepts 4 to 20 treads. For larger orders (renovation projects, trade), request a custom quote for tiered pricing.

Is the displayed price final?

The price shown is ex-VAT, excluding delivery. Once you submit your quote request, we confirm the production time and shipping cost based on your address.

What is the lead time?

Allow 3 to 5 weeks depending on quantity and finish. Coloured hardwax-oil treads take 1–2 weeks longer than raw.

Can I change my order after submitting?

Yes, as long as production has not started. Email contact@stepolia.com with your request number to adjust dimensions, wood or finish.

Do you deliver throughout France?

Yes, we ship across mainland France via specialist freight. Pallet delivery with scheduled appointment included.
