Custom stair treads
Solid wood stair treads, manufactured to your exact dimensions for any structure: metal, wood, concrete or floating. Straight, L-shape or winder. Edge-glued laminates for lifetime stability.
From 40 € HT per piece

Stepolia stair treads are made one by one in our workshop, from solid European or American hardwood, to your exact dimensions. Each tread is built with edge-glued laminates: thin solid-wood strips bonded perpendicular to the visible face. This process prevents warping, cracking and bowing over time — unlike a tread cut from a single board.
Our treads fit every project: classic straight staircase, quarter or half-turn with L-shape winders, floating staircase suspended on embedded steel plates, or treads with LED lighting recessed into the nosing. For each use case we adjust thickness, chamfers, metal-insertion grooves and technical drillings directly on CNC — so installation is trim-free on site.
Four species are available: European oak (the most sought-after for its nobility and stability), ash (light, lively), beech (blond, uniform, value-oriented) and American walnut (dark, luxury grade). All our treads are kiln-dried to 8–11% moisture, guaranteeing they will not move once installed in heated interiors.
Why our treads
Each tread combines selected hardwood, crack-proof assembly and CNC machining accurate to a tenth of a millimetre.

Which staircase types
Our treads fit new builds as well as renovations. Send us your drawings or a photo, we quote in 24 h.
Metal staircase
Treads fitted on central or double steel stringers. Insertion groove or mounting plate machined to the tenth.
Floating (cantilever) staircase
Treads suspended on embedded steel plates. Drillings, notches and CNC pockets integrated in the workshop.
Concrete or wood staircase (renovation)
Solid treads 30 to 60 mm to replace or clad an existing staircase without heavy works.
Winders and L-shape treads
Complex shapes, quarter-turn or half-turn, cut to your plan by CNC.
How we manufacture your treads
Each tread starts with a selection of Prime-grade solid strips, hand-sorted, then planed. Strips are edge-glued with D4 polyurethane adhesive (water-resistant) under a hydraulic press. The blank is then sanded 120 / 150, and runs through a 5-axis CNC for every project-specific cut: metal-insertion grooves, LED drillings, chamfers, rounded nosings.
Before shipping, every piece passes a moisture / flatness / dimension check. Our treads are individually packaged with reinforced corners and palletised for secure Europe-wide transport. A dimensioned technical drawing ships with every order to guarantee a seamless install.
